Qubit

atom से बँधा electron अपनी सबसे कम energy वाली state (ground state) में बैठ सकता है, या excited state में ऊपर उठ सकता है। ground state को |0⟩ कहो, excited state को |1⟩।

ये 2 orientations — spin-up और spin-down — 2 बिल्कुल सही qubit states हैं।

energy-level qubit

|0⟩ = ground state, |1⟩ = excited state।

spin qubit

|0⟩ = spin-down, |1⟩ = spin-up।

neutral atoms (optical tweezers में), quantum dots (semiconductor islands में फँसे electron spins), और nuclear spins — हर एक tradeoff space के अलग कोने को push करता है: coherence time बनाम gate speed बनाम scalability बनाम operating temperature।

  • 3 classic realizations: electron का ground बनाम excited energy level, electron का spin-up बनाम spin-down, और photon की horizontal बनाम vertical polarization।

Q1.एक engineer electron के spin से qubit बनाता है — spin-down को |0⟩ और spin-up को |1⟩ मानकर।
