Module 1a tour: 12 stops में big picture

यह क्या है

Measurement: qubit का शाप

qubit को measure करते ही वह एक ही state में collapse हो जाता है — superposition ख़त्म। और measurement का मतलब कोई भी intrusion है qubit की privacy में: उसे observe करता scientist, टकराता हुआ कोई stray atom, information leak करता photon। एक measurement, एक classical जवाब। Algorithms को clever सवाल पूछने पड़ते हैं।

qubit बन किस चीज़ से सकता है?

qubit कोई भी controllable two-level quantum system हो सकता है। Electron का ground बनाम excited energy level। Electron का spin, up या down। Photon का polarization, horizontal या vertical। और भी कई — trapped ions, superconducting circuits, neutral atoms, quantum dots — हर एक अलग engineering trade-off।

3 बुनियादी properties

Superposition — वह blend जो quantum physics को computing के लिए interesting बनाता है। Interference — circuit की wave-like amplitudes को इस तरह steer करना कि ग़लत जवाब cancel हो जाएँ और सही बच जाए। Entanglement — qubits के बीच वह 'spooky' correlation जो quantum system की capacity बढ़ा देता है। और नहीं, इससे messages नहीं भेजे जा सकते, न time travel होता है।

quantum algorithms क्यों जीतते हैं

Computational steps को problem size के against plot करो, तो मुश्किल problems के लिए classical curve exponentially फट जाती है जबकि quantum curves नीचे ही रहती हैं। Flagship example: numbers को factorize करने में classically super-polynomial effort लगता है — यही hardness पूरे modern encryption की नींव है — जबकि Shor's algorithm polynomial time में factorize करता है। Merit clock speed में नहीं, scaling में नापी जाती है।

quantum algorithms के 3 circles

3 overlapping circles imagine करो: practical utility, few number of qubits, और quantum advantage। Center — जहाँ तीनों एक साथ मिलें — वही desired area है। Shor's algorithm में utility और advantage है पर कई qubits चाहिए; 2019 के supremacy experiment में कुछ qubits पर advantage था पर utility नहीं। Center ही field का लक्ष्य है।

आज के quantum computers: NISQ era

हम NISQ era में जी रहे हैं — Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum। Noisy: error correction अभी इस्तेमाल में नहीं। Intermediate: qubit counts बहुत बड़ी नहीं। Noise qubits को decoherence में धकेलता है, कई designs को near-absolute-zero cooling चाहिए, और raw qubit count कुछ नहीं बताता — quantum volume और CLOPS quality और speed नापते हैं।

Machine learning data से predict करता है — mathematically, function approximation plus optimization। 4 तरह के problems: classification (cat है या नहीं, spam है या नहीं), regression (कल का मौसम, अगले quarter की sales), clustering (natural groups खोजो), और recommendation (आगे क्या देखोगे)। जवाब labeled हों तो supervised, न हों तो unsupervised।

quantum machine learning: 4 flavors

हर QML idea को एक 2×2 box में sort करो — data classical है या quantum, processor classical है या quantum? CC: quantum-inspired classical algorithms (Tang dequantization story)। QC: quantum hardware को बेहतर बनाता ML। CQ: ML के लिए quantum speedups, data loading की bottleneck के साथ। QQ: quantum processors पर quantum data — कोई loading problem नहीं।

मुख्य बातें

  • Qubits 0 और 1 का blend रखते हैं (superposition); n qubits को 2ⁿ numbers describe करते हैं — यही quantum power का स्रोत है।
  • Measurement blend को collapse कर देता है, और कोई भी intrusion — observation, stray particles, leak होते photons — measurement ही है।
